Welcome to Old Quarry Middle School! Our school is known for a lot of things. We were named an Illinois Horizon School to Watch in 2024 and have earned a rating of “Exemplary” from the Illinois State Board of Education two years in a row a distinction reserved for the top 10 percent of schools in the state. Old Quarry ranked in the top 3.2% of all elementary and middle schools, but that’s not why we do what we do.
We take immense pride in fostering a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and students. We all have our share of cherished middle school memories, along with a few we'd rather forget. But at Old Quarry Middle School, we strive to be one of the greatest middle schools in the world, thanks to our supportive parents, eager learners, and a staff committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure success.
As our staff, students, and community will tell you, no matter what day it is, it is a great day to be a WARRIOR!
Important Information
Drop-Off Procedures
Car rider drop-off is on the east side of the building.
Drop-off will move slower the first few days, please plan accordingly.
Parents, follow the directions of the staff in the drop-off zone.
Please practice patience, kindness, and be good role models for our students. Doors open at 7:20 a.m. for student arrival.
Attendance Procedures
Please remember that there is no substitute for your child being in school. Vacations are considered unexcused absences.
Absences can be reported in Skyward by following these instructions:
- Log into your Skyward Account
- Navigate to the Attendance Section
- Select Attendance Requests
- Add an Absence Request
- Choose the Date of the Absence
- Provide a Reason for the Absence
- Save Your Request
Bonus Tip: If you have siblings in the district, you an select multiple studetns for absences instead of entering each child’s absence separately.
